Derwent House is ideally situated in Matlock, on the edge of the Peak District, at the side of Hall Leys Park. The park is a wonderful space with children’s play facilities, boating lake, tennis courts, wonderful floral displays and of course the park café. Around the edge of the park, just a short walk from Derwent House are local pubs and bars, restaurants, varied shops and independent retailers. 

The house is well equipped and furnished to provide you with a comfortable and relaxing stay, with an oak-panelled dining-room, a lounge and the ‘snug’ ideal for informal socialising when preparing dinner. A superb Georgian house for a celebration, reunion or for families to come together, with plenty of space to relax, rest and unwind.

Derwent House is surrounded by the rolling hills and moors of Derbyshire and the Peak District with plenty of things to do for all ages, it’s the perfect destination for a holiday, short break or weekend away, throughout the year. What's Included

Bed linen and towels, gas, electricity and a basket of logs. Fully stocked kitchen, fresh coffee and tea with milk on arrival and a selection of fresh flowers.

Derwent House offers beautifully appointed self-catering accommodation for up to 12 guests in a Georgian grade II listed residence with many original features.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The bedrooms are laid out over 2 floors above the ground floor, with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, 4 of which are ensuite. The rooms are spacious and individually decorated.

The History

Derwent House is a grade two listed historic building in Matlock. The house was owned by The Knowles family in the 17th century. The estate originally included several of the surviving buildings.
